below the direct direction of the Special delegate of the Secretary-General on Sexual aggression in Conflict (SRSG-SVC), and operational as part of the UN Action Secretariat, the arranger will direct and coordinate the work of UN Action, hold up the work of central Points from the 13 UN member entities and of the Steering group comprised of Principals from the 13 member entities, act as a go-between with external partners-including the NGO group of people and donors, and manage the UN : Action Secretariat. The arranger will perform the following duties

supply management for the effective performance of UN Action, by convening- journal meetings at the working-level and preparation quarterly meetings at Principals-level, and create results-oriented information and track progress in meeting agreed outputs from these meetings.;
 get ready, update and check annual joint strategic frameworks with obvious goals,- operational targets and outputs, developed through structured consultation with all 13 UN entities and additional key stakeholders;
bring up to date the fundraising plan for UN Action - this will comprise rising-
 funding proposals for discussion with donors, and preparing progress reports for donors and associates on UN Action expenditures and achievements;
-Mobilizing wealth for the UN Action Multi-Partner faith Fund and liaising with the UNDP Multi-Partner faith Fund workplace and UN Action Resource organization Committee in relative to the management and planned use of this fund;
-Conceptualize, plan, call together and chair UN Action meetings, including episodic briefings on situations of specific alarm or with specialist academics and practitioners in the ground;
-supply strategic and sensible support to drive the three pillars of UN Action's vacancy (that is: Advocacy for act; knowledge-building and country-level hold up) by contracting / supervision consultants and operational with respective pillar leads;


This un vacancy implies recurrent communication with the next :
chosen Focal Points and Principals from the 13 UN affiliate entities; the UNDP Multi-Partner faith Fund Office and UN Action reserve managing team, which oversees financial support allocations; and the SRSG-SVC as Chair of the system. Budget administration:• Issues allotments, including redeployment of funds when 
necessary, ensuring appropriate expenditures.• Monitors budget implementation and determines/recommends reallocation of funds when necessary.• Monitors expenditures
 to ensure that they remain within authorized levels.• Authorizes payment to Governments 
for settlement of certified death and disability, contingent-owned equipment and 
letters-of-assist claims; determines average monthly troop strengths, establishing amounts reimbursable and initiating payments for reimbursement to troop-contributing countries.
 Reviews all requisitions generated by the Reality system for goods and services to
 ensure correct objects of expenditure have been charged, ensuring availability of funds.• 
Administers and monitors extra-budgetary resources, including review of agreements 
and cost plans, ensuring compliance with regulations and rules and established 
policies and procedures.• Prepares relevant documentation with respect to budget
 performance submissions.• Reviews and makes appropriate recommendations 
with respect to the finalization of budget performance reports, analysing variances 
between approved budgets and actual expenditures.• Provides substantive support to intergovernmental and legislative bodies.

Education

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business 
administration, finance, or related field.  A first-level university degree in 
combination with additional two years of qualifying experience may be 
accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.


Work Experience

A minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience in 
accounting, finance or budget is required. Relevant IT skills, including familiarity
 with Microsoft Office are required. Experience working with Accounting Module 
ERP, e.g. IMIS, is an advantage. Experience in implementation of Accounting 
Standards, including IPSAS, highly desirable.


Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
  For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.  
Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.



Assessment Method

Qualified applicants will be evaluated through a competency-based 
interview and/or other assessment methods.
